PUBLIC NOTICE
RE: SCHEDULE AND REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026 NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS
(KCSE, KPSEA, KILEA, AND KJSEA)
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to inform all Heads of Institutions, Parents, Guardians, and Candidates about the schedule and registration procedures for the 2026 national examinations.
1. Examination Schedule
In accordance with the 2026 School Calendar, the national assessments and examinations will be conducted as scheduled by the Ministry of Education. Detailed timetables will be communicated to institutions in due course.
2. Registration Requirements
- Portal Access: Registration for all examinations must be completed online through the KNEC portal: www.knec-portal.ac.ke.
- Registration Deadline: The registration portal for the 2026 examinations will close on 31st March 2026. No late registration will be accepted.
- Candidate Details: Heads of Institutions must ensure that all candidate information (Name, Gender, and Birth Certificate Number) exactly matches records in the National Education Management Information System (NEMIS).
3. Important Instructions
- Private Candidates: Private candidates are required to download registration forms from the KNEC website and submit them to the Sub-County Director of Education (SCDE) for registration and verification.
- Practical Subjects: Instructions for KCSE science practicals and technical subjects will be issued to schools by 13th February 2026.
- Examination Integrity: KNEC reminds all stakeholders that examination malpractice is a serious offence punishable under the KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012.
KNEC urges all stakeholders to comply fully with the registration guidelines and timelines to avoid inconveniences.
